Build your personal buying blueprint in one 90-minute live session, without spending months scrolling listings that were never right for you.
Thursday 12 November, 12pm NZ time
I had a client a few years ago who bought a business and three months later hated it.
Not because of the numbers. Because in traffic, it was an hour each way from his house, and he needed to be there every day.
With no traffic it was 20 minutes. So during all the negotiations, it was 20 minutes. He didn't think it through. Then he was spending two hours a day in traffic, and it drove him nuts.
Another client had built and sold a successful cleaning business. Then he bought a very specialised engineering business, nothing like what he'd done before. He didn't understand what he was getting into, and he lost it.
Both were good businesses. Just not for them.
Two brokers told me they get 50 to 80 interested buyers for each business they put on the market. A broker in the US told me he had 598 people interested in the three businesses he had for sale, just last month.
A lot of a broker's time goes on working out which few are serious, clear and have their money ready.
So you need to know what you're looking for before it comes up. Not after.
Not a rhetorical question. What will the business give you that you don't have now? Your answer changes which business suits you.
The steps from first look to settlement, so you know where your blueprint fits.
We work through money, investment size, your role and risk, and you rank what matters to you, from "don't care" to "deal breaker".
How to use your blueprint to filter businesses quickly, and where to find businesses that never hit a broker site.
We pull up a broker site together and look at what listings actually tell you, and what they don't.
"I thought the content and delivery was great, not too heavy but covered the key point really well. Certainly gave me plenty to consider in terms of my next steps."

I've been a Chartered Accountant for over 20 years, starting at KPMG and Grant Thornton. For 10 years I was a CFO, mostly in private-equity-owned businesses, where a big part of my job was buying businesses with real potential, building their value, and selling them well.
It was the part of my job I loved most. Now I teach everyday people how to do it for themselves.
I won't tell you what to buy. I teach you how to think it through, so you stay in control of your decision.
No. It's education and coaching. I teach you how to think it through, and the decisions stay with you. Just keeping the lawyers happy: it's not legal, tax or accounting advice, and you're responsible for your own decisions. When you get to buying, you'll want a good accountant and lawyer on your side.
No. This is actually the best time. A lot of people start by scrolling listings, then try to work out if something fits. That's backwards. Get clear on what you want first, and you can say no quickly to the wrong businesses and move when the right one comes up. You don't need perfect answers either. Your blueprint can change as you learn.
That's fine. The thinking behind a good buying decision is the same wherever you are: what you want the business to give you, what you can invest, the role you want and the risk you're comfortable with. Some details differ by country, like tax and legal steps, and those are worth checking with advisors where you're buying. If the time is late for you, the replay comes to your inbox.
You get the full replay and the worksheet, so you can work through it in your own time and still leave with your blueprint.
Straight after you pay, you'll go to a short Zoom registration: your name, email and one question about what you most want to learn. Zoom then emails you your personal join link. You can add it to your calendar from that email. Can't find it? Check your spam folder, or email me at jaimee@jaimeehart.com.
At the end I'll tell you how you can keep working with me, if you want to. It's a short part at the end, not the whole session. The workshop stands on its own, and there's no pressure.
